ACB courts journalists in Blantyre

The Anti-Corruption Bureau  has highlighted high public expectations of the Bureau's services as one of the challenges that the Bureau is facing in the process of dealing with corruption cases.

In her remarks during a media workshop which the ACB conducted with journalists under Blantyre press club that took place in Mulanje district on Friday the 26th of February, ACB spokesperson Egrittah Ndala explained that cases sent to the bureau require time and resources to be carried out in a manner that will not jeopardize the investigation but high public expectations are always on the neck of the bureau for immediate results.

Ndala said some due to these expectations, there is always interference from Civil Society organizations, politicians and other public members despite them knowing very well how the bureau is supposed to work on cases for credible result.

President of Blantyre press club Blessings Kanache hailed ACB for the workshop which was an eye opener to journalists on how the bureau operates.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has called for close collaboration with the public as they believe that defeating corruption is not a one-man job.
