As a way of building oneness among media houses and peer learning, Aidstar2 Malawi under a program called leadership Development brought together Luntha TV and Zodiak broadcasting station (ZBS) staff, to interact and share experiences.
Speaking at the ZBS studios in Lilongwe, Mathias Manyeka, General Manager of ZBS, said that he was glad with the meeting of two broadcasting houses.
“Being the voice of the voiceless is one of the things that have made ZBS to have commendable productions. We are never partial and we do work as a team,” he said.
Aidstar Two Malawi is a project that is under the Management Sciences for Health (MSH), an organisation which works for Capacity Building of Non-Governmental Organizations that take part in health projects in one way or another.
“The aim of our organisation is to uplift the institutions through capacity building packages for their effectiveness”, said Welmma Chiyenda, the Monitoring and Evaluation specialist for Aidstar Two Malawi. She continued, saying that they believe in engaging different organisations to interact so as to learn from one another in different areas.
“Aidstar Two Malawi, under the program of Leadership Development Plan (LDP) is working with various organisations in the country. We want to help them identify the problem that they face and see how others are addressing them. We also go out to help them in their respective places of work,” she explained.
Mphatso Jezman M&E officer of Luntha television thanked Aidstar Two Malawi Project and the MSH staff for involving Luntha in such activities saying this has a good impact on the development of Luntha television station.
Aidster2 is currently working with 14 organisations especially those that deal with health issues and Luntha TV is one of them.
Apart from the workshops and the education visit, Luntha TV has also received a donation of two desk top computers, thanks to USAID who are sponsoring the AidstarTwo Malaw programs.
