Eighty-Six Graduate at Catholic University of Malawi

The Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA) has presented degrees to 86 students in the fields of accountancy, anthropology and economics. CUNIMA’s Chancellor Bishop Joseph Zuza who was the guest of owner at the function said the university will increase the number of students, faculties as well as quality of education.

In his address, the Chancellor added said that Catholic Church thought it wise to establish the University with an aim of helping the welfare of the country.

‘We would like to see more Malawians doing their education through the Catholic University, because Universities are centers of higher learning and they are supposed to get their own funding through different activities, but one day we would like to see our University funding itself’ said Zuza.

One of the graduates, Sister Katie Gondwe urged all students who are still at Catholic University to work extra hard in order to achieve their goals.

The Catholic University of Malawi is a fast growing institution of higher learning accredited by the Government of Malawi to offer degrees, diplomas and certificates.

The Episcopal Conference of Malawi established it on 16 October 2004 and it officially opened its doors in 2006 by the late President Professor Bingu wa Mutharika.
