Zomba Gymkhana Club Donates to the Handicapped at Kankao

The Zomba Gymkhana Golf Club in conjunction with Dwangwa’s Kasasa Golf Club on Mother’s Day donated assorted items to Chimwemwe Children’s Home and Mtendere School for the Handicapped situated at Kankao in Balaka District.

According to Gymkhana Golf Club’s Captain, Edward Mbesa, the club decided to donate the items at the two facilities after hearing the recommendable efforts that the two institutions do in taking care of the vulnerable children.

Mbesa also thanked the Poverelle Sisters of the Catholic Church for the good job they are doing in taking care of the young kids and also the disabled.

He promised that their golf club will organize another Golf tournament specifically to raise funds for the support of the two institutions.

In her remarks, Chimwemwe Children’s home Matron Sister Barbara Bhima thanked Gymkhana Golf Club for the timely donation.

According to sister Bhima, the two institutions provide amenities to kids from many districts to as far as Nkhotakota

Chimwemwe children’s Home is a facility where orphaned newly  born babies are kept up to the age of two, and Mtendere School for the Handicapped is a school where disabled children are taught and the facilities are run by the poverelle Sister of the Catholic Church.
