Bishop of Mangochi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Montfort Stima on Saturday September 30, 2017 said failure to properly use donations is lack of appreciation.
Rt. Rev. Stima made the remarks at St. Paul’s Minor Seminary in Mangochi when St. Paul’s Seminary alumni donated assorted items worth millions of Kwachas to the school; and the school was welcoming this year’s form ones and threes as well as welcoming the school’s new staff.
Chairperson for the alumni, Charles Baluwa, said this was a continuation of what has been done already in the past years and said they will return to St. Paul’s Seminary mid next year as the school is in great need from well-wishers especially those that went through its corridors.
Baluwa said much as they don’t have everything, they saw the need to help their old school which has a lot of problems at the moment and needs people of good will like those that went through the school to do something.
Bishop Stima continued to say that it is sad to note that there is no trace of what was there before and no replacements have been made
Speaking at the same event when receiving the items, Rector for the school Fr. Symon Mundisiye said education sector lacks financing because so much is needed to boost the sector. He said the alumni portrayed a good gesture by giving what is theirs from their hearts.
The alumni donated a plasma screen, a water pump, keyboard, complete sound system, chasubles for priests and uniform for alter boys; these worth over K4 million.
