Pope’s Nuncio Rates Highly Catholic University of Malawi

The Pope’s Nuncio to Malawi and Zambia Archbishop Julio Morrat has said that the Catholic University of Malawi is one of the best high learning institutions in the world.

Archbishop Morrat said this during the 14th Congregation of the Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA) on 30th June, 2017 at CUNIMA in Chiradzulu. He said CUNIMA has demonstrated that the Catholic Church is there to promote the human being in all areas, not only evangelization regardless of creed or status.

Speaking during the ceremony, Chairperson for the Episcopal Conference of Malawi, His Grace Archbishop Thomas Msusa said that Government of Malawi is doing a commendable job in helping the University in some areas. He went further to reveal that the University has high plans of opening a Campus in Lilongwe and Mzuzu next year.

Archbishop Msusa urged the graduants to uphold discipline and values they have gained from the University and be good citizens in this dynamic world.

Catholic University which was established in 2006 is a brain child of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi. 333 students graduated during this 14th graduation ceremony which took place at the University’s Campus in Nguludi in Chiradzulo District on 30th September 2017.
