Balaka police has destroyed 52 bags of marijuana at a function which took place at Ng’onga Hills in the District.
In an interview, Detective Sub Inspector Lyson Gauti, revealed that the bags have been confiscated in between November 2012 and May this year.
In his remarks, Gauti thanked the communities within the District who are working hand in hand with the police, saying that the job of the Police becomes much easier when people are open t o give secret information.
Among the government officials who witnessed the function was one representative from Balaka Magistrate court.
This was the second time for Balaka Police to destroy marijuana. In February this year, another 142 bags were also destroyed.
