ANTI-MALARIA VACCINE ADMINISTERED AT MITUNDU HEALTH CENTER

Mitundu community Hospital is a referral hospital for about seven Health Center's. Today the World Health Organization in conjunction with PATH, through the Ministry of Health administered the pilot Phase of the Anti-malarial vaccine at the Community Health Center.

The Anti-malaria vaccine took about 30 years of research and trials to be developed with an objective of reducing the rate of death due to malaria.

Doctor Mary Hamel is the representative of World Health Organization for the Malaria vaccine and was at Mitundu to witness the first administering of the vaccine.
